About Gone Rural boMake

Gone Rural boMake was created in response to the overwhelmingly obvious needs of forgotten communities in the rural areas of Swaziland, where 70 percent of the population live below the poverty line. The combination of extended drought, poverty and the highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the world make survival in this country very challenging.

Our Mission

Gone Rural boMake is a non-profit organisation founded by Gone Rural in 2006 to assist rural women and their communities with education, health and social needs. Gone Rural creates income generation for the women while Gone Rural boMake complements this progress with health and education programmes and community services for the women artisans and their communities.

Gone Rural and Gone Rural boMake

Gone Rural supports Gone Rural boMake by contributing 50% of the non-profit’s administrative costs and is working towards covering all administrative costs in the future. Likewise, minimum 20% of Gone Rural profits are donated to Gone Rural boMake.

Gone Rural boMake is a fully transparent and accountable organisation, funded by donor organisations and private individuals.
